JAMBOREE: Dillon Wildcats Defeat Cheraw Braves

The Dillon Wildcats defeated the Cheraw Braves 21-3 in the final game of the Jamboree of Champions played in Dillon on Friday, August 16, at the Dillon Memorial Stadium.
Head Coach Andy Poole’s Cheraw Braves began on offense but was forced to punt. The Dillon Wildcats’ #2 picked up 25 yards on the first offensive play followed by Dillon’s #8 who picked up a first down. The Wildcats’ #8 picked up 6 yards on another play prior to #2 scoring from 8 yards with 5:44 remaining in the first quarter. Dillon’s #37’s PAT was good. The Dillon Wildcats’ under the direction of Head Coach Kelvin Foller led 7-0.
Dillon’s defense stopped the Cheraw offense, and Dillon took over. Dillon’s #2 picked up big yardage. Dillon’s #0 scored with 1:26 remaining in the first quarter. Dillon’s #37’s second PAT was good. Dillon led 14-0.
With 6:34 remaining in the second quarter, Dillon’s #0 carried the pigskin into the end zone for 6 points. #37’s PAT was good. Dillon’s lead was 21 points.
Cheraw managed a field goal to cut the score to18 points. Dillon closed out the game 21-3.
