Dillon defeated Purnell Swett 72-52 in varsity girls basketball played on Wednesday, December 17, in the Robeson County Shootout.
The Dillon Lady Wildcats led 22-1 after the first quarter of play. Dillon added 14 points in the second quarter while Purnell Swett add 20 points. At halftime, Dillon was up 36-30. After 3 quarters of play, the Lady Wildcats led 53-47.
Dillon’s Treasure Davis led all scorers with 33 points. She had nine 2-point baskets, three 3-point baskets, and 3 free throws. Khw-Nylahi McKinnon added 27 points with five 2-point baskets, four 3-point baskets, and 5 free throws. Azyriah Ford had a 3-point basket and 4 free throws for 7 points. Zynijah Pernell added a 2-point basket and a 3-point basket for 5 points.
Kamryn Locklear led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points. She had three 3-point baskets, two 2-point baskets, and 2 free throws. Nylah Johnson added four 2-point baskets and 4 free throws for 12 points. True Ellerbee four 2-point baskets and 2 free throws for 10 points. Zaylee Hunt had three 2-point baskets and a free throw for 7 points. Marley McKinney and Johnna Sampson each had a 3-point basket. Sarah Hunt had a 2-point basket.
